So, during our stay at Aneka we decided to go for a car ride to the waterfalls at Gitgit. This was a 30 minute drive away and a very good place for a stop. Nice nature, but a lot of sales-people who all where overly enthusiastically selling their good. As a rule of the thumb, the real price is around 1/3:rd of their initial offering. But it can be less...
The path down to the waterfall was very nice at several places.
Here is a tourist rip-off: This building looks very much like a ticket office. In fact, there was no way to tell what it was, it only said "IDR 1100 adults, 500 children". What do you think ? It turned out it was insurance they were selling (as we got the document), not a ticket. Watching the waterfall was free of charge of course!
Rice terraces are surrounding the whole area of Gitgit.
The waterfall.
Full size.
One more.
The river goes down. Actually, this waterfall could have been anywhere, it would have looked equally nice.
Here a lot of people were looking for something, probably gold or silver.
Just beside the waterfall is this small place for leaving your sacrifices to your gods.
My favorite snapshot of the waterfall.
